【オーストラリア】Ability Englishの閉校に伴う学生の受け入れに関して
Ability English - Provider closure
The Tuition Protection Service (TPS) was advised on 27 April 2021 that Ability Education Pty Ltd t/a ability English entered liquidation and has ceased teaching its international students effective immediately. Worrells Solvency & Forensic Accountants has been appointed as the liquidator.

上記の通り、オーストラリアでもトップクラスの知名度を誇る「Ability English」がシドニー、メルボルンキャンパスともに閉校となりました。
同校は一キャンパスでおよそ500名の学生受け入れが可能な大規模語学学校ということもあって、コロナ禍で海外からの学生受け入れができないことが大きなダメージとなり、今回の学校閉鎖となりました。
コロナウィルスの影響で留学ができない状態が長引けば、今後も多くの教育機関でAbility Englishのように閉校となる可能性がありますが、今回のAbility Englishの場合は、オーストラリア政府による教育サービス法ESOSの学費保護サービスTPS（Tuition Protection Service）により、学生ビザで渡航予定であった学生を、他校が代わりに受け入れる保護措置が取られます。
